Stockholm: Beauty on the water

The capital of Sweden is also known as the “Beauty on the Water”. And the name fits, because Stockholm stretches across 14 islands and still feels like a rural paradise.

The Fjällgatan viewpoint, also known as “the balcony”, offers a special view of the old town, Gamla Stan, and the Gröna Lund amusement park.

If you want to dive into Swedish history, Skansen, the world's oldest open-air museum, is the place for you. It showcases Swedish buildings from every level of society from the 16th century onwards, as well as various domestic and wild animals.

Kiruna: Seeing the Northern Lights

The second stop on our Sweden itinerary is the rather quiet and peaceful town of Kiruna, which draws nature lovers and sports fans alike.

Dog sledding, hiking and Northern Lights tours are among the most popular outdoor activities. You can see the Northern Lights between September and March.

Besides the outdoor activities, Kiruna also has a few sights to offer, including Kiruna Church and the LKAB Visitor Centre.

For a long time Jukkasjärvi wasn't touristy at all, but thanks to the growing popularity of the Icehotel, lots of people from all over the world now come to this sleepy little town. The hotel is open all year round, and its ice rooms can be booked in winter from December to April.

A stay at the Icehotel is an experience you'll never forget. It offers a range of activities such as snowmobiling, Northern Lights hunting, dog sledding, moose safaris on horseback and much more. The hotel also includes a 17th-century church and a reindeer enclosure.
